The Way of Protection: A Journey of Prayer and Salvation

Station I: Jesus is Condemned to Death

As we begin our journey, we pray for the protection of St. Michael, the archangel, to shield us from the forces of evil and the temptations of the world. May his intercession guard us from harm as we embark on this sacred path.

Station II: Jesus Carries His Cross

With each step Jesus takes, bearing the weight of his cross, we pray for the strength to resist the allure of sin and wrongdoing. May his example inspire us to carry our own crosses with courage and perseverance, trusting in his divine protection.

Station III: Jesus Falls the First Time

As Jesus stumbles and falls under the burden of his cross, we are reminded of our own vulnerability to the trials and tribulations of life. We pray for protection from accidents and misfortune, asking for the grace to rise again with renewed determination and faith.

Station IV: Jesus Meets His Mother

In the tender encounter between Jesus and his mother, Mary, we find solace and comfort in the midst of adversity. We pray for her maternal protection, seeking her intercession to shield us from harm and guide us safely along our journey towards salvation.

Station V: Simon of Cyrene Helps Jesus Carry the Cross

Simon of Cyrene lends his strength to Jesus in his hour of need. Inspired by his selfless act of compassion, we pray for the assistance of others in times of trouble, and for the protection of community and fellowship as we navigate the challenges of life.

Station VI: Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus

Veronica’s act of kindness offers a glimpse of hope and compassion amidst Jesus’ suffering. We pray for protection from the harshness of the world, asking for the grace to see the face of Christ in all whom we encounter, and to respond with love and mercy.

Station VII: Jesus Falls the Second Time

Despite his weariness, Jesus continues to persevere on the path to Calvary. We pray for protection from discouragement and despair, trusting in God’s strength to uphold us in times of weakness, and to help us rise again with renewed faith and determination.

Station VIII: Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem

Jesus consoles the women of Jerusalem, urging them not to weep for him, but for themselves and their children. We pray for protection from the consequences of sin and injustice, and for the grace to work towards a world where peace and righteousness reign.

Station IX: Jesus Falls the Third Time

In his final fall, Jesus embraces the fullness of human weakness and suffering. We pray for protection from the trials and tribulations of life, and for the assurance of God’s presence with us, even in our darkest moments.

Station X: Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

As Jesus is stripped of his garments, we are reminded of the vulnerability and nakedness of our own souls. We pray for protection from the shame and guilt of sin, seeking the cleansing power of Jesus’ blood to wash away our transgressions and restore us to wholeness.

Station XI: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

Jesus willingly offers himself up as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. We pray for protection from the forces of evil and the powers of darkness, trusting in the victory of Christ’s resurrection over sin and death.

Station XII: Jesus Dies on the Cross

In his death, Jesus conquers sin and opens the way to salvation for all who believe in him. We pray for protection from eternal separation from God, and for the gift of everlasting life in his kingdom.

Station XIII: Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross

As Jesus is taken down from the cross and laid in the tomb, we pray for protection from the fear of death, and for the hope of resurrection and new life in Christ.

Station XIV: Jesus is Laid in the Tomb

In the silence of the tomb, we await the dawn of Easter morning and the promise of Christ’s triumphant resurrection. We pray for protection from despair and doubt, and for the assurance of God’s unfailing love and mercy, now and forevermore. Amen.
